Programs at Gracie Jiu-Jitsu Aurora
Gracie Jiu-Jitsu Aurora has gone to great lengths to create specific programs for each demographic: Jr. Grapplers for kids (ages 9-12), Women Empowered for the ladies, Gracie Combatives for beginner adults, and the Master Cycle for advanced practitioners. Each program adheres to a set curriculum, so students know exactly what they will learn before they come to class. Every student is issued an attendance card on which we track daily progress, so they can see how much they’ve accomplished and exactly what it will take to move on to the next level. In a martial art where confusion and frustration are extremely common, we’ve gone to great lengths to ensure that you will enjoy the highly-structured and encouraging approach only found at Certified Gracie Jiu-jitsu Training Centers.
Gracie Combatives is our beginner program for adults. In this program, you will learn the 36 core techniques of Gracie Jiu-Jitsu (also known as Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu or BJJ) in a fun, safe, and cooperative environment. You can start the program at any time and participate in any class without previous experience.
Beyond Gracie Combatives belt, Gracie Jiu-Jitsu consists of hundreds of advanced techniques organized into a clearly defined, systematic curriculum called the Master Cycle. The Master Cycle’s unique structure simplifies the journey to black belt by organizing all of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ) into seven positional chapters.
Women Empowered is the official Gracie self-defense program for women based on the techniques of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ). In this 15-lesson program, we will teach you how to neutralize the 20 most common attacks ranging from having your hair grabbed to being pinned to the ground by a weapon-bearing assailant. In the Jr. Grapplers program, we focus on 33 non-violent self-defense techniques that teach children to “neutralize and negotiate” with the bullies. Verbal assertiveness strategies are a major portion of this curriculum. A child needs absolutely no experience to start, and we guarantee a noticeable increase in your child’s confidence within a few weeks!
